Some clothes are just there in your closet, and others become the MVPs you reach for again and again. Today I’m rounding up the pieces that were worth every wear, sharing when I wore them, why I love them, and how you can style them too.
This isn’t just a “look what I bought” post; it’s a post to help you style the items if you own them too! These are the pieces that not only my followers went crazy for, but also truly worked for my actual life. I’m sharing when I wore them, why they worked, and how I styled them, so you can decide if they’ll be the MVPs in your own wardrobe.
Quince Bella Jeans
These jeans have been on repeat since I got them! They are SO soft and comfortable, plenty of stretch, but don’t lose their shape during the day.
SIZING: These are true to size – I wear my normal 26, and this is the 28″ length. They come in three lengths so decide which length you’d like. If you want them cropped but you’re shorter, just take them to a tailor to be hemmed OR pull out your sharp scissors and cut an inch or so off the hem. Don’t be scared!
TWO WAYS I’VE RECENTLY WORN THEM:
- A cute better than basic short sleeved sweater and printed ballet flats. Super simple, but still interesting! Shop this outfit right here.
- I just got this gorgeous suede bomber jacket and these jeans are perfect with it and a basic white tee. I threw on some chocolate brown sneakers (fall’s biggest shoe trend!!!) and I’m set for a fall day. You can shop this look right here.
Target Double Strap Tan Ballet Flats
Target has the cutest shoes right now (I shared a few favorites HERE), and out of all the items that I found, these flats were my favorite. They’re super comfy, a great neutral color, and a little “better than basic” with the perforated faux suede and double strap.
SIZING: These are extremely comfortable on the sole, but they run a tiny bit small. I’d recommend sizing UP half a size.
TWO WAYS I’VE RECENTLY WORN THEM:
- I threw them on with an easy everyday outfit with the Quince Bella jeans (the same pair I shared above) and an easy button up shirt. The outfit is simple, but the shoes make it feel a little more polished and interesting. You can shop this outfit right here.
- These are a great shoe to wear with a skirt or dress too when you don’t want to wear heels! They looked great with a tiered white skirt, a basic tee, and some fun jewelry. This outfit is linked right here.
Mother “The Hustler” Jeans
These jeans were a splurge that I made during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They’re definitely pricey, but they’re such an incredibly comfortable and chic jean. I love the length, the fit, the color — they’re so classic that they’ll be a jean I wear for years to come.
SIZING: They run true to size! I’m wearing my normal 26.
TWO WAYS I’VE RECENTLY WORN THEM:
- They were perfect with a pre-fall better than basic short sleeve sweater and a pair of heeled sandals for a day of work! Shop this outfit here.
- I put this outfit together at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale with this darling sweater and the knee high boots that I bought and cannot wait to wear when the weather cools down. You can shop this outfit right here.
Walmart Retro Style Sneakers
I cannot believe how comfortable these $25 sneakers are! I have them in two colors, and both are amazing. Chocolate brown sneakers are HUGE for fall, and this is a great way to try the trend without spending a lot.
SIZING: They run pretty true to size, but if you’re in between, I’d recommend sizing UP.
TWO WAYS I’VE RECENTLY WORN THEM:
- In a pre-fall look, I threw these sneakers on with a pair of leopard pants (a favorite purchase from a few years ago), a basic white tee, and a chic trench coat. This look is linked right here.
- These are a great teacher sneaker with our favorite Athleta teacher pants and a denim jacket. Shop this look right here.
Nordstrom Navy Double Breasted Military Style Jacket
I bought this jacket during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it was an immediate win for me. I put it on and knew it would be one of those classic staples that I would wear for years to come.
SIZING: It runs true to size – I’m wearing a size XS.
TWO WAYS I’VE RECENTLY WORN IT:
- I paired it with this darling pleated skirt for a bold fall look! You can shop this outfit here.
- This was the first time I put it on and fell in love with it. It looks amazing with a pair of long line jeans and a heeled boot! This outfit is linked right here.

Target Sailor Jeans
I bought my first pair of these Target sailor jeans last fall and I have purchased probably 5 pairs since then. They’re such a good jean that is under $30! Kristy and I both love them and we wear them for our Wednesday Twinning segment often.
SIZING: they run true to size. I’m wearing a size 2. They do run long though, so both Kristy and I cut about 1″ off the hem to make them a better length for us.
TWO WAYS I’VE RECENTLY WORN THEM:
- I paired these jeans in an easy pre-fall look with a striped short sleeve sweater and a pair of loafers. I love the monochromatic with the brown shoe. You can shop this outfit here.
- These jeans make a great teacher outfit too! This striped pair is a little easier to wear (if you’re worried about wearing white) and is great with a short sleeve sweater and a pair of ankle boots as we head into cooler weather. This outfit is linked right here.
