My closet is a good variety of expensive and more affordable items. I’ve been doing a save vs. splurge series over on Instagram for the last year, and wanted to share some more affordable versions of my favorite things for spring and summer today!
Have you seen my save vs. splurge series on Instagram? I compare a more expensive item to a “dupe” or a “save” version so you can choose between the budget version or the more expensive option.
You can see an example of a video RIGHT HERE. Today I wanted to take this series to the blog and show you some of my most popular comparisons.
Save Vs. Splurge
Anthropologie Navy Colette Pants | Kohl’s Lauren Conrad pants
- These are my favorite pants from Anthropologie and I’ve been wearing them for years. They’re super comfortable, stretchy, and hold their shape beautifully. After 4 years they still look brand new. I wear my normal size 26. The Kohl’s pair isn’t quite the same quality, but great for the price and a good budget friendly option!
Evereve Barrel Pants| Target Barrel Pants
- I was very hesitant to get on the barrel pants trend, but once I found a really subtle pair, I actually found that I like them a lot! This pair from Evereve has gotten so much wear the last few months. I wear my normal size 26. But they are a higher price point, so this Target pair is a good alternative that’s a great budget friendly option!
Athleta Linen Pants | Quince Linen Pants
- I’ve tried both of these linen pants, and I really like both, but the standout pair for me is the Athleta pair. They’re both 100% linen, but the Athleta pair holds its shape better during the day. They still both get wrinkly, but I feel like the shape of the Quince pair is a lot more relaxed by the end of the day. I wear a size small in the quince and an XS in the Athleta pair.
Hermes Sandals | Aldo Sandals
- These Hermes sandals are a major splurge. My husband gave them to me as a gift and although they’re crazy expensive, I’ve worn them hundreds and hundreds of times. But there are lots of good alternatives out there that are similar style! These Aldo sandals are a good option.
Aerie leggings | Lululemon leggings
- I’ve been wearing these Aerie leggings for years and they’re an absolute favorite. They’re so lightweight and so comfortable. They’re super comparable to Lululemon leggings, but a great budget friendly option.
Anthro Crocheted Skirt | Amazon Crocheted Skirt
- I bought this Anthropologie crocheted skirt a few weeks ago and have already worn in multiple times. It’s so chic and special and such a statement piece! But Amazon has a similar option at a budget friendly price. Just a heads up that it’s several inches shorter – it’s more of a short midi length compared to the long Anthropologie maxi skirt.
Agoldie denim shorts | Madewell denim shorts
- Long denim shorts are super trendy this year, which is great for me since that’s my go-to in the summer. This pair from Madewell is fantastic and although it’s a bit of a higher price point too, it’s a similar style but much more budget friendly to the Agoldie pair.
Anthropologie Somerset dress | Quince Dress
- I’ve been wearing my Somerset dresses for years and they are theeee best. But Quince came out with a similar option that’s much lower in price. They’re very similar in style, but I prefer the fabric of the Anthropologie dress personally. The only thing I don’t like about the Anthropologie dress is the neckline, because it has a clasp that doesn’t always stay in place. The Quince dress has a stitched up neckline so it’s the same style but doesn’t gap open.
Aritzia White Tee | Target White Tee
- We all need a crisp white tee in the summer, and I actually own both of these! The Aritzia tee is much thicker and not at all sheer, whereas the Target tee is very lightweight but somehow not sheer either. I’d recommend wearing a nude bra under both.
Madewell Perfect Vintage Jeans | Target Sailor Jeans
- These Madewell jeans are some of my very favorites – they’re super comfortable and sturdy, and not too wide of a leg. The Target sailor jeans are quite a bit wider style, but I also love them and they’re super budget friendly! I wear a size 25 in the Madewell jeans (I always size down in Madewell) and a size 2 in the Target jeans.
Very beautiful dresses, if combined with the basket random game, will create a unique style.
